With a solid educational foundation, Katy embarked on a successful career in the corporate world. Recognizing the need for meaningful change and a renewed sense of purpose, she transitioned to a role at NextUp, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing women in business and fostering inclusive workplaces. In her new role, Katy is at the forefront of a movement aimed at empowering women and driving positive change in the business world.
COACHING PHILOSOPHY:
I am an energetic, dedicated and authentic coach! I love to push my athletes to be the very best that they can be.
Communication is key to fostering the teams growth. Success is not about winning but instilling confidence, resilience and purpose for the athletes. Above all, I want to instill a team approach so we all win together.

Coach Michelle is in her second year as a coach with NYC. She cheered throughout her high school days, and although many years have passed, the memories still hold strong. Her favorite part of NYC is watching the program, as well as the kids, grow. In high school, Coach Michelle was the Captain of both Football and Hockey cheer in her Senior year. She coaches because she loves to see the excitement and joy it brings the kids. Coach Michelle believes that cheerleading is more than yelling on the sidelines; it is a social activity that builds teamwork and friendships, boosts kids' self-confidence, and develops leadership skills, all while having fun.
